[ARCHIVED] Contamination Found at Brozovich MA 8-8J Well Site

Contamination Found at Brozovich MA 8-8J Well Site

On January 30, 2020, Broomfield was notified by Extraction that impacted soils have been identified during reclamation of the Brozovich MA 8-8J location.  The Brozovich MA 8-8J is one of the wells designated for plugging and abandonment in the Operator Agreement.  This is a legacy facility in Broomfield and included two crude oil tanks, one produced water tank, and a separator. Extraction reported this contamination finding upon discovery, as required, to Broomfield and the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC).

A Broomfield inspector will monitor the remediation of the impacted soils.  The COGCC is responsible for reviewing all of the impacted soils information.  Completion of any necessary remediation will be determined by COGCC and the completion of any required remediation must be approved by COGCC.  A public notice with additional information can be viewed here.
