Boosters are available for all three COVID-19 vaccines for certain populations!
Moderna & Pfizer: The below individuals are eligible to receive a booster dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine at least 6 months after the second dose:
- 65 years and older
- Age 18+ who live in long-term care settings
- Age 18+ who have underlying medical conditions
- Age 18+ who work or live in high-risk settings
Johnson & Johnson: For recipients who received Johnson & Johnson, booster shots are recommended for those who are 18 and older and who were vaccinated two or more months ago.
The CDC also authorized a “mix and match” approach to booster doses. People may get a different type of vaccine for their booster than their original series. For example, if you received a Johnson & Johnson vaccine for your first dose, you may choose to get a booster dose of Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson.
