For the seventh year in a row Broomfield is honored to be recognized as a 2017 Playful City USA. This national recognition program honors cities and towns across the country for putting the needs of kids and families first. Broomfield is one of nine Colorado communities to be recognized in 2017 for our dedication to the well being of the kids in our community and providing opportunities for kids to learn, explore, grow, and play.
"This is an exciting announcement," said Recreation Director Clay Shuck. "Broomfield is proud to offer easy access to parks, trails, playgrounds and open spaces for all residents of our community."
Playful City USA is a national non-profit organization, KaBOOM! which recognizes communities across America who “take bold steps” to make it easy for kids of all ages to get the balanced and active play they need to thrive. On top of Broomfield’s sustained plan which provides for the creation, maintenance and modernization of parks in the community, abundant open space and bicycle/walking/running trails are an additional impetus toward achieving this distinction.
