The 2022 Free Summer Concert Series

Creative Broomfield is excited to announce the 2022 Summer Concert Series!

This year there will be seven concerts with the final two Summer concerts being held in new locations across Broomfield: North Midway Park and Redpoint Ridge Park in Arista. Make sure you arrive early to every concert for pre-show festivities with interactive fun for kids brought to you by Broomfield Council on the Arts and Humanities and the Broomfield Library. Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs, umbrellas, and an appetite because every Summer Concert will have sweet and savory local food truck vendors. 

And last but not least, the final announcement is that this year Creative Broomfield in partnership with the Broomfield Library is hosting a Summer Concert specifically for families inside the Broomfield Auditorium on Monday, June 27 at 10 a.m.

June 22, 2022, 7 p.m. 
Come enjoy feel good world music with reggae musician, Selasee Atiase. Selasee is a singer and songwriter from Ghana who explores reggae music influenced by pop and the west African highlife music genres. On the touring circuit, Selasee has shared the stage with reggae legends including Steel Pulse, The Wailers, Third World, The Mighty Diamonds, Don Carlos, Barrington Levy, King Yellowman and the Melodians. Summer Concert Series for Families: Jessica Fichot

Broomfield Auditorium
Monday, June 27, 2022, 10 a.m. 

How many languages can be sung on one stage? L.A. based chanteuse, songwriter and accordionist Jessica Fichot draws from her multi-ethnic French, Chinese & American upbringing to fuse music styles and languages, taking the listener on a twisting journey out of the French chanson tradition, into the lands of gypsy jazz, 1940s Chinese swing, international folk and into the wilderness of her imagination. Outlaw Jim and the Whiskey Benders

June 29, 2022, 7 p.m. 

Outlaw Jim and The Whiskey Benders are a hard-hittin’ Outlaw Country band with roots in the sounds of Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard, as well as influences from New Orleans Funk and Southern Rock. Playin’ a unique list of original songs and sing-along favorites, many are comparing Outlaw Jim and The Whiskey Benders to the original outlaws, but with a flare all their own. The Secret Agency

Hip Hop Songwriting Workshop for Children: 1:30 p.m. in the Broomfield Auditorium.                                              
Regular programming: 7 p.m. 

Kids, participate in a Hip Hop songwriting workshop happening at 1:30 p.m. in the Broomfield Auditorium. Join this interactive rhyme-writing session with members of The Secret Agency including Grammy-winning songwriter, Secret Agent 23 Skidoo, and fellow rappers Secret Agent Hi-Fi and Secret Agent Flowers. Kids can express themselves, rapping their own original creations over boom bap beats while gaining an understanding of slant rhymes, syllable manipulation, and bar counting. 

Grammy award winning hip hop artists, The Secret Agency brings their electric ensemble and highly literate lyrical style of golden age hip hop with the raw emotional power of funk to Broomfield. Joined by amazingly acrobatic bboy dancers, this interactive and empowering experience blurs the line between kids music, young adult narratives and universal storytelling that draws from Jim Henson and George Clinton in equal measure. Community Park
Thursday, July 7, 2022, 4 p.m. 

Butterfly Effect Theatre Company (BETC) is bringing their theatre truck to Broomfield! On Thursday, July 7 swing by Community Park behind the library and enjoy BETC's new show, "Amelia's Big Idea", a musical about Ten-year-old Amelia Smart who wants to build a dog park. Her pet Gadget needs a safe place to play, but her big idea to transform Townville will take a lot of work! Along the way, Amelia will need help from the Mayor, the Librarian, Mr. Delivery, and others. Kids (suggested ages 4-12) will learn about teamwork, community, and civic ambition through catchy songs and live acoustic music in this can’t-miss world premiere. Warning: You might take some big ideas home with you. Please note that this event will not have any food trucks! 


The Custom Shop

Broomfield, are you ready to rock? The Custom Shop Band is a variety rock band from Erie, Colorado. Lead vocalist Michele Steele, a two-decade veteran of the Colorado Front Range music scene brings her versatile style and stage charisma alongside guitarist and vocalist, Murat Iyigun, founder of the Custom Shop Band. They, along with long-time musician Tone Show and drummer David Brenowitz will bring powerful rock music to Broomfield’s Summer Concert stage. For more information about The Custom Shop visit


The New Orleans Suspects

Get ready for some New Orleans flair! Touring band New Orleans Suspects is composed of some of the most seasoned, highly respected musicians in NOLA. Lead vocalist Eric Vogul brings his powerful vocals alongside Grammy award winning guitarist Jake Eckert, fan favorite and popular drummer Eddie Christmas, national touring pianist CR Gruver, and Saxophonist Jeff Watkins, who led Rock’n’Roll hall of fame group The James Brown Band for years. Celebrate the end of summer with award-winning bluegrass! AJ Lee and Blue Summit is a national touring bluegrass band. Singer, songwriter and mandolinist AJ Lee is a nine-time winner of the NCBS best female vocalist award and the IBMA Momentum Vocalist of the year award in 2019. The band won NCBS’ best bluegrass band award in 2019. Their acoustic roots caters to their broad fanbase and combines a bit of classic bluegrass with acoustic Americana.
