Checkout and Renewals

Broomfield Library does not charge for lost or damaged children’s materials. If you have questions about what materials are included or what it means for your library account, please contact circulation@broomfield.org or call 720.887.2301. Please note that other Flatirons Library Consortium libraries may still charge for lost or damaged children's materials. Broomfield Library patrons will never be charged late fees for any materials borrowed from Flatirons Library Consortium libraries

Broomfield Library materials check out for 21 days and 99 items may be checked out with the following exceptions:

Material Renewals

  • You may Renew Online (account login required), however,
  • Most library materials renew automatically up to two times. 

Items will not renew if

  • There is a hold on the item
  • Any account items are 14+ days overdue
  • The item is a “Lucky Day” copy (Lucky Day items are highly popular items that are not available to be placed on hold)
  • You have fees on the account exceeding $10
  • Your library card has expired. 
    • Library Card Renewal: Library cards expire every 3 years. To renew, please call 720-887-2301 with your library card number or email circulation@broomfield.org with the following information:
      • Library Card Number
      • Current address
      • Current phone number
      • The email address you use will be what is entered unless otherwise indicated

Holds

  • You will need your library card number and PIN (defaults to last four digits of telephone number) to place holds.
  • Search the Catalog (Click Place Hold on the right side of the page after you have found the book that you want.)
  • Call the Public Services desk at 720.887.2350 to place a hold.
  • Broomfield residents may request materials they are not able to find in the catalog by using the online materials request (account login required) or by calling the Public Services desk at 720.887.2350.
