Residential Water Rebates

Residential customers who receive a utility bill from the City and County of Broomfield (CCOB) can save money and water by upgrading to more efficient devices. Rebates are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t wait!

Take these simple steps to start saving: Review the residential rebate rules, make your eligible purchase and submit your Residential Rebate Application within 90 days of your purchase date.


Submit an Application

Submitting your rebate application is simple. You can complete it electronically using the online Residential Rebate Application.


Residential Rebate Qualifying Purchases

Upgrade to water-efficient devices and start saving! Explore the list of qualifying purchases eligible for Broomfield's Residential Water Rebates. From weather-based smart controllers to rain barrels, these upgrades help conserve water, reduce your utility bills and protect the environment. Check the list to see if your purchase qualifies and take the first step toward savings today.

Please note: CCOB is a Denver Water customer. Therefore, Broomfield's Rebate Program is consistent with the Denver Water Rebate Program and uses the same qualifying purchases.

Rotary nozzles 

  • Broomfield's eligible purchases are consistent with Denver Water's Eligible Models and include Hunter MP®, Rain Bird® and Toro® Precision™ rotary nozzles.
  • The minimum purchase is 10, maximum is 100.
  • Limit: One-time rebate ($3 rebate per nozzle) per property.

WaterSense-certified weather-based smart controller 

  • Find eligible products on the EPA's WaterSense qualifying model list.
  • Prices vary depending on the model, brand and vendor. The rebate amount will cover the purchase price up to $150 maximum. Taxes and installation fees are excluded.
  • Equipment cost and labor must be separated on receipt.
  • Be aware that irrigation systems must not operate between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. Visit Broomfield.org/WaterUseandDroughtRestrictions to read about Broomfield’s Water Use Ordinance.
  • Limit: One per residence (up to $100 rebate).

Whole home water monitoring system with leak detection and automatic shut-off device information

  • Eligible products must continuously monitor the home’s indoor and outdoor water consumption, must notify the user in the event of an unexpected condition and must be equipped with an integrated automatic shut-off valve to react independently, as needed.
  • A photograph of the new, installed Whole Home Water Monitoring System must accompany the rebate application
  • Limit: One per residence (50% of purchase price, up  to $300).

Rain barrels 

  • Broomfield residents may be eligible for a rebate for installing a rain barrel at their residence. Learn more.
  • Limit: Two every five years at the same residence (up to $50 rebate).


Residential Rebate Rules

Application Requirements

  • A separate rebate application is required for each type of device.
  • All applications must be submitted within 90 days of purchase—no exceptions.
  • Applications must include:
    • A valid sales receipt with:
    • Purchase date
    • Manufacturer name, model/make number (or a copy of the owner's manual/packaging if not on the receipt)
    • Price of each item
    • Payment method (e.g., check, credit card, cash)
  • For online purchases, receipts must also include the purchaser's name and installation address (online order confirmations are not valid.)

Eligibility Guidelines

  • Rebates are available only to CCOB water customers on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to available funds.
  • Rebates apply to qualifying, new items only. Fixtures used, leased, refurbished, rented, received through warranty/insurance claims, exchanged or won as prizes do not qualify.
  • Eligibility is limited to once every 10 years per item per property, as follows:
    • Weather-based smart controllers: one per property
    • Rotary nozzles: one per property
    • Smart whole-home water monitoring systems: one per residence
    • Rain barrels: Up to two per property, per every five years

Ineligible Situations

  • New construction or homes less than one year old.
  • Apartments or condominiums: contact your management office to obtain your water account number for eligibility.

Rebate Process

Rebates are issued as credits on your water bill, with any remaining credits carrying forward to future bills. However, for recent home sellers or rental property owners, rebates will be provided as checks instead. Completed applications can be submitted via email to conservation@broomfield.org or mailed to Broomfield Water Conservation Rebates, City and County of Broomfield, One DesCombes Drive, Broomfield, CO 80020.

Important Notes

  • Duplicate receipts without barcodes will not be accepted.
  • Applications missing required information or valid receipts will be returned.
  • Customers may be required to grant the City and County of Broomfield access to verify installation of eligible devices.
  • Failure to cash rebate checks within 90 days voids the rebate.
  • Keep a copy of the entire application and receipt for your records.
