Health Insurance / Connect for Health Colorado

Colorado has its own web-based Marketplace, Connect for Health Colorado, where you can shop for and enroll in insurance.


The Affordable Care Act marketplaces are open for enrollment of health insurance between Nov 1st  through Jan 15th of the following year. 

Coloradans without health insurance will be able to enroll in coverage between November 1st through January 15th of the following year. Applications can be completed at Health First Colorado.

Coloradans who experience a Qualifying Life Change Event, during or outside of the Open Enrollment Period, have a 60-day window to buy or change plans. If you miss the Special enrollment Period window, you may have to wait until the next Open Enrollment Period to apply. You can enroll in Medicaid or the Children's Health Plan Plus (CHP+) any time of the year.

With Connect For Health Colorado you may qualify for a health insurance plan with savings based on your income. Many people who apply qualify for premium tax credits that lower the monthly costs of coverage. Some also qualify for savings on deductibles, copayments, and other costs. With the Affordable Care Act, all plans cover the same Essential Health Benefits, all Pre-existing Conditions, and a wide range of Preventive Care Services.

Or you may be qualified for Medicaid or CHP+ (Children’s Health Plan Plus). These, and other public assistance programs, are for lower income individuals, families, children, pregnant women, persons with disabilities and the elderly. (You can apply for Medicaid or CHP+ at any time, as there is no Open Enrollment period for those programs).
