Victim Rights
Crime victims have certain rights. If you are a victim of one of the crimes listed below, your rights are guaranteed by the Colorado Constitution:
- Any crime which includes an act of domestic violence
- Arson - 1st degree
- Assault - 1st, 2nd, 3rd degree; vehicular; on the elderly or disabled
- Bias - Motivated Harassment
- Burglary - 1st degree and 2nd degree
- Careless driving resulting in death
- Careless driving resulting in serious bodily injury
- Child abuse
- Child prostitution
- Crimes against at-risk adults or juveniles
- Criminally - negligent homicide and vehicular homicide
- Ethnic intimidation / biased motivated crimes as defined by C.R.S. 18-9-121
- Harassment by stalking
- Hit-and-run resulting in death
- Incest - aggravated incest
- Indecent exposure
- Intimidation or aggravated intimidation of a victim or witness
- Invasion of privacy for sexual gratification
- Involuntary Servitude
- Kidnapping - 1st and 2nd degree
- Manslaughter
- Menacing
- Murder - 1st and 2nd degree
- Posting a private image for harassment or pecuniary (monetary) gain
- Retaliation against a judge, juror, prosecutor, victim, or witness, elected official
- Robbery - aggravated, aggravated of a controlled substance, of the elderly or disabled
- Sexual assault; unlawful sexual contact; sexual assault on a child; on a child by one in a position of trust; on a client by a psychotherapist
- Sexual exploitation of children
- Tampering with a witness or victim
- Trafficking in adults or children
- Any attempt, conspiracy, or solicitation of these crimes
- Violation of a criminal protection order under Section 18-1-1001, C.R.S., against a person charged with committing sexual assault, on a child, on a child by one in a position of trust, or on a client by a psychotherapist
