Solar
CCOB is continuing to partner with Solar United Neighbors (SUN) to bring you “Switch Together Broomfield,” a group buying program that makes it easy and affordable to install rooftop solar. Residents and small businesses can access competitively priced solar installations, plus optional battery storage and EV chargers, all through a hassle-free, vetted process. Participants are expected to save an average of $4,913 on a typical system through the group buying program.
2025 installation calendars are full. You can still register to go solar, but projects will be installed in 2026. Federal tax credit ends Dec. 31, 2025.
Bringing “Switch Together” to Broomfield residents is just another step CCOB is taking to reduce community greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to reach emission reduction targets laid out in the GHG Emission Reduction Plan.
Advantages of Solar Energy
Solar energy is renewable, which means it is an unlimited resource that will not run out. The world supply of fossil fuels, on the other hand, is non-renewable and will eventually run out. While solar panels might not fully power your home or business, they will reduce your electricity bill and supply you with your own energy source.

Why Join Switch Together?
There are several advantages to joining this program. You will receive information about solar energy from a non-profit organization familiar with solar providers in the region. Another great reason to join is getting a group discount on solar installation with optional add-ons, such as battery storage and EV chargers.
How Does Switch Together Work?
Switch Together organizes groups of homeowners to buy solar together. By organizing a group purchase for solar panels, Switch Together can get a better deal for everyone in the group. Watch this video for a short, helpful explanation.
- Registration: Sign up online today. It comes at no cost, and there are no obligations.
- Auction: Pre-vetted installers participate in an auction. The best bid wins.
- Personal recommendation: Based on your registration details, you will receive a personalized recommendation. This offer will include your estimated costs, savings and expected electricity generation.
- Make Your Decision: Once you get the offer, you can decide if you want to accept and proceed with a site survey. If you choose to accept your recommendation, you will be asked to pay a small deposit towards the full cost of your solar installation.
- Installation: If you accept your recommendation, Switch Together will transfer you to the installer who won the auction. The installer will contact you for a survey and set an installation date. The survey will verify your roof's suitability and result in a final offer.
