Risk and Safety Management

Risk and Safety Management Responsibilities:

• Insurance and Claims Management - Administers the City and County’s Property and Casualty insurance program, manages claims processing and implements strategies to minimize financial losses.
• Contract and Vendor Compliance - Establishes insurance requirements for all City and County contracts and vendors, ensuring adequate protection against potential liabilities. Works closely with Procurement and Legal teams to review agreements and verify compliance with established standards.
• ADA and Title VI Compliance - Ensures City and County programs and services are accessible under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act and do not discriminate under local or federal laws and regulations.
• HIPAA Compliance – Ensures compliance with HIPAA by protecting the privacy of health information related to insurance claims and workers’ compensation. Oversees proper handling, storage and disclosure of Protected Health Information
• Workers’ Compensation Administration  - Manages workers’ compensation claims, coordinates return-to-work programs, supports injured workers and ensures compliance with state laws.

• Safety Committee Coordination - Leads Broomfield’s Safety Committee, fostering collaboration among departments to build and maintain a strong safety culture across the organization.
