Rail

Two rail projects are being planned that could improve multimodal options in Broomfield.  The Northwest Rail (B Line) is an element of RTD's FasTracks program approved by voters in 2004.  The B Line will connect Denver Union Station and Longmont, passing through Broomfield.  The rail line will use the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) track.   Broomfield will have two stations on the B Line.  One will be at the Broomfield 116th Ave. Station and the other at Flatiron Station.  RTD Northwest Rail Peak Service Study with public engagement concludes in 2024.

Front Range Passenger Rail (FRPR) is another major rail effort underway.  FRPR will operate on the same BNSF track as the B Line but is not planned to have stations in Broomfield.   In the future, this rail service is planned to connect Pueblo to Fort Collins.  Plans for a first phase service will connect Denver to Fort Collins.
