You may obtain a duplicate Colorado title for $8.20 either in person, by mail, or online.

If our records show a lien on the vehicle and you have paid the vehicle off you must provide a lien release from
the lender. This must be on their letterhead and include the following information: year, make, vin number,
owners name, the date the loan was satisfied and signed under penalty of perjury. Without a lien release the duplicate title will be mailed to the lien holder on record.

Requirements for applying in person:

• The license plate number, vin number, registration or title number
• Valid secure and verifiable ID
• If not the owner of record then a Motor Vehicle Power of Attorney signed by the owner is required.
