Mark your calendar for the annual Living in Balance Aging Well Expo Fair! This FREE event will be packed with great information from over 40 vendors, six break-out sessions, and a keynote speaker who will challenge and inspire you to live courageously and with intention. The expo will take place Friday, Oct. 6 from 8 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Broomfield Community Center.

- 8 a.m.: Continental Breakfast and Keynote speaker, Kari Knutson: “LIVING IN FULL COLOR”
- Back by popular demand, keynote speaker Kari Knutson will challenge you and motivate us to reflect on who we are, take action in the present, and continue to use our gifts to live our best, most colorful lives!

- Top Five Scams and How To Protect Yourself
Financial scams and their losses increase dramatically year over year. Scammers present themselves through the digital world and over the phone. Learn how to identify and respond to scammers.

10 a.m. - Beyond Technology: Hear to a Higher Standard
We rarely think of better hearing without thinking of the devices that enable it. While hearing instruments are necessary to revive access to lost sound, the results you are looking for depend on best-practice audiological care. From how your hearing devices are selected, tuned, and serviced for years to come, high standards matter in the treatment of your hearing loss.

10 a.m. - Ageism: The Solution Starts with You
Battling ageism involves recognizing and challenging stereotypes, discrimination, and prejudice based on a person's age, particularly against older individuals. In this session, we will discuss how we can be a part of the solution, as well as bring awareness to some of the issues surrounding this “ism”.

1 p.m. - Compassionate Approaches to Dementia Behaviors
People living with dementia or cognitive impairment may exhibit behavioral expressions. These are often rooted in common symptoms or triggers. We'll discuss some of the most common symptoms and triggers, as well as interventions that are practical and compassionate - maintaining your relationship with your person while honoring their dignity.
Speaker: Brenda Gurung (she/hers), credentialed Dementia Specialist, leads engagement and memory care programs for a large senior living operator and is a volunteer Community Educator for the Alzheimer's Association.
