Special Events Permit
A special event alcohol permit allows qualified entities to sell. by the drink only, alcohol beverages during public events.
Applicants seeking a Special Event Alcohol Permit in the City and County of Broomfield should review the Colorado Liquor Code - Special Events Permit and Broomfield Municipal Code and submit an application in the licensing portal no later than 45 days prior to the event date.
PLEASE NOTE: If the event is to be held at a City and County of Broomfield park or recreation facility, a Park or Facility Reservation must be obtained PRIOR to applying for a Special Event Alcohol Permit on the Clerk’s licensing portal. While making the park or facility reservation, you will be prompted to complete an application for an Alcoholic Beverage Consumption Permit. Only beer, wine, and champagne are allowed and glass bottles are prohibited in the parks. Once the reservation and Alcoholic Beverage Consumption Permit have been submitted to the Recreation Services department, a written letter of approval will be issued, which must be included in your supporting documentation for the Special Event Alcohol Permit.
PRIVATE EVENTS
If you are holding a private event in which alcohol will be served, but not sold (either directly, through a ticket fee, and/or other cover charge), you do not need a Special Event Permit. Click here for general information regarding alcohol at a private event.
If you are holding a private event in which alcohol will be served, but not sold, at a Broomfield park shelter or facility, you will need to make a Park or Facility Reservation. While making the park or facility reservation, you will be prompted to complete an application for an Alcoholic Beverage Consumption Permit which will allow consumption on Broomfield property for your private event.
