About Laurie Anderson

Laurie Anderson was elected by Ward 4 in 2019. Her current term ends November, 2023. Laurie and her husband, Jason, have lived in Broomfield since 2015. They have 5 children, Miriam, Raymond, Rosemarie, Cassandra and Ryan. Their oldest, Miriam, is now in college where she studies English and runs track and cross country; Raymond enjoys science, math and tutoring; Rosemarie and Cassandra perform with Live Love Dance here in Broomfield; and Ryan loves Scouting, hiking, and building projects.

Education

Laurie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota - Institute of Technology.

Professional Background

Laurie began her professional career as a mechanical engineer designing products for the medical and technology sectors. After several years, as a stay-at-home Mom, Laurie began work as a consultant. She is currently a Colorado Field Organizer for Moms Clean Air Force.

Political/Community Experience

Laurie has spent several years working and volunteering with local community groups across Colorado to help residents engage effectively with their local, state, and federal government leaders on matters related to protecting public health, safety, welfare, and the environment. She enjoys volunteering with various non-profit organizations, and helping students understand the important work of our government.

Laurie currently serves or has served on several Boards and Commissions including: Colorado Communities for Climate Action (CC4CA), State Highway 7 Coalition, and US 287 Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Coalition, Advisory Committee on Environmental Sustainability (ACES).
