About Laurie Anderson

Laurie Anderson was elected by Ward 4 in 2019, and re-elected in 2023. Her current term ends November 2027. Laurie and her husband, Jason, have lived in Broomfield since 2015. They have 5 children, Miriam, Raymond, Rosemarie, Cassie and Ryan. Miriam now works in assisted living; Raymond is pursuing an electrical engineering degree at Colorado School of Mines; Rosemarie is pursuing dance at Mankato State; Cassie attends the Adams 12 Five Star Online Academy and enjoys aerial dance and acrobatics at the Apollo Center in Broomfield; and Ryan attends Stargate with a focus on engineering and robotics.

Education

Laurie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota - Institute of Technology.

Professional Background

Laurie began her professional career as a mechanical engineer designing products for the medical and technology sectors. After several years, as a stay-at-home Mom, Laurie began work as a consultant. She is currently a Colorado Field Organizer for Moms Clean Air Force.

Prior to serving as a Councilmember, Laurie spent several years volunteering and working with local community groups across Colorado to help residents engage effectively with their local, state, and federal government leaders on matters related to protecting public health, safety, welfare, and the environment. She enjoys volunteering with various non-profit organizations and helping students understand the important work of our government.
