At the March 3 Broomfield City Council meeting, Katie Peterson was sworn-in as the newest member of the Broomfield City Council to fill the vacant Ward 1 seat created by the resignation of City Council Member Kenny Nguyen upon his appointment as State Representative District 33 in January.
Peterson will fill the vacancy until the next election, which is November 2026, at which time a successor would be elected to fill the remainder of the vacant term.
