City Council Focus Sessions

2026 City Council Focus Session

The 2026 focus session will take place at the Broomfield Community Center on Feb. 7 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The focus session is open to the public. This is a work session, similar to an evening study session, and the council will not be taking public comment. Any recommendations that require a vote or requests for future action that require staff to reprioritize existing goals or funding will be brought to a future council meeting, and per standard process, will be open to public comment. Due to the format (e.g., hands-on, moving around the room, etc.), it will not be live-streamed or recorded.

View the agenda when available on the agenda management portal; select the “Agenda Available” link for the meeting in which you are interested.

2025 Focus Session

Key topics impacting Broomfield’s future—Broomfield’s economic and fiscal status, anticipated future development, and an overview of key programs, initiatives and projects anticipated in 2025—were explored at the Feb. 8, 2025 City Council focus session.

The annual City Council focus session is an important step in aligning the community’s goals with city and county operations, particularly as we continue addressing the top priority identified in the recent Community Survey: Financial Sustainability and Resilience. By fostering collaboration and transparency, the annual focus session helps shape a clear vision for Broomfield. Focus sessions are working meetings where Council discusses issues, gathers information and, if appropriate, provides direction to staff. Any recommendations that require a vote or requests for future action that require staff to reprioritize existing goals or funding will be brought to a future council meeting, and per standard process, will be open to public comment.
