Enterprise Fund Update to City Council
At the Oct. 21 Study Session, staff provided a detailed summary of the enterprise funds as part of the first quarterly financial update to the City Council. The Study Session presentation and video are available for viewing online.
On Oct. 28, 2025, the Broomfield City Council approved the City and County of Broomfield’s Utility Fund recommended rate increase. This increase will help ensure the sustainability of aging infrastructure and the ability of CCOB to continue providing a safe and reliable water supply to its residents. The next quarterly update is scheduled for January 2026.
These quarterly updates were implemented to increase transparency and routine updates to the City Council and the community, and will include:
- Enterprise revenues, expenses, and fund balances
- Updates on enterprise-related capital projects
- Future rate impact projections
- Steps for ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of the enterprise funds
- Recommendation of a subject matter expert Advisory Committee
- Overview of the progress, enhancements, and application of the Long Range Financial Plan (LRFP)
